Adventure sports or races come in large variety - from a short 5k over multi-day, multi-sport professional runs. They all have in common that they require a variety of skills - balance, strength, and endurance, but also things like orienteering, nutrition management, or psychological coping mechanism.
I have been designing programs and trained individuals for events such as Spartan Races, Tough Mudder, but also prepared individuals and/or teams to partake in longer events since 2011. The variety of skills needed will make the planning much harder and requires much self-motivation of the trainee. However, if you think it is something you aspire, reach out and we can setup a roadmap.
One of my favorite "sightseeing stops" to look for when traveling the globe: Calisthenics Parcs. They start to be almost ubiquitous, and one can search at https://calisthenics-parks.com/ - home of the bars - for one close by.
There are various books, videos on YouTube or other platforms, so you might not need or want a personal trainer. However, if you feel it will be worth the extra and personal advise, please reach out.
Since the Pandemic, we all learned that we can make great gains with limited equipment. Most that would fit in a suitcase and can cost less than $50. I have been traveling the world for years, staying in small spaces, but never let go of my fitness and exercise routine. I am more than happy to share my knowledge, for instance how to do pull-ups on a door frame, rows in a hotel room, or dips between chairs. And if no weights are available, we just ask some stranger if she/he can sit on your back to squat.
Research suggests a positive Return on Investment (ROI) of approximately $1.65 for every dollar spent on a corporate wellness program. An obese employee will miss work an average of 5.9 days/year more than a normal weight employee and will cost their company an average of $1,200/year more in medical expenses. High stress employees are at significantly higher risk for depression, anxiety, absenteeism, and turn-over, costing U.S. employers $200 to $300 billion per year.
